Lufthansa stops using biofuel after trials

After flying its first 747 transatlantic biofuel flight to US from Frankfurt to Washington DC, Lufthansa says trials are concluded as successful. LH now, however stops using biofuel.

This comes after almost 1,200 test flights, mainly within Europe. The German carrier says there is no continous supply of certified fuel available as there is no industrial production available to make larger quantities available.

Virgin Atlantic say they will start using biofuels in 2014 and British Airways reports to start doing so in 2015.
